Automatically add eligible competitors to a pool
Turn on automatic nominations and see students appear in an empty event pool.
Automatic nominations fill an event pool with the students who can take part. This example starts with a pool that has no nominations. We will turn on the setting and see the students appear.
Fill a pool with automatic nominations
-
Open the carnival’s Event Pools list and choose Nominations for the pool.
-
The nomination board is empty. No students have been added to this pool yet.
-
Go Back to Pools, then click Edit for the same pool.
-
Switch on Automatically add all eligible competitors.
-
Click Update and edit Competitors to save.
-
The nomination board now shows the students Houseplay added to the pool, grouped by house.
Houseplay keeps this nomination list in sync with eligible students while the first round remains open. Turning on automatic nominations also registers those students in the carnival. Staff can reorder the list, but cannot add or remove individual students while the setting is on.
If staff need to choose individual entrants, leave automatic nominations off and manage nominations manually. Next, create the first-round heats if you are managing those events yourself.
