Bulk-create event pools
Create event pools for several gender and grade groups, then verify every pool.
If the same activity needs a pool for several groups, Add Multiple Pools saves you creating each one separately. Houseplay creates a pool for every gender and grade or age category combination you select.
Before starting, set up the carnival and individual event type. This example leaves automatic nominations and first-round management off, so you can add nominations and rounds yourself afterwards.
Create pools for several groups
-
Open Event Pools and check for pools already using this event type and group. Choose Add Multiple Pools.
-
Choose an individual Event Type and enter Max Competitors per Event. Review Scoring Method and Distribution Method; the same settings will apply to each new pool.
-
Tick the required Genders and Grades. For an age-grouped carnival, choose Age Categories instead. Read the multiplication shown under the form before submitting; each combination becomes a separate pool.
-
Check the two automatic switches. With both off, creating pools will not nominate students or build first-round events. Choose Create Pools once the combinations are correct.
-
On Event Pools, check that there is one row for every selected gender and grade or age category. Confirm the competitor counts before you start adding nominations.
Once the pools are in place, add nominations and create the first-round heats.
If you need to add more pools later, check the existing list first. Submitting the same combinations again creates more pools.
