Delete students individually or in bulk
Remove students who have left, and recognise when an active carnival result prevents deletion.
An organisation admin can remove a student from the school-wide Students list, one at a time or in bulk. Check the student’s school ID before deleting: this action removes them from the active roster and cannot be undone in the interface. If the student has results in an active carnival, Houseplay keeps them instead. A student who is entered but has no result can be removed; their active carnival entry is removed too. Older archived carnival results remain available.
If you are updating a whole year group, first read Prepare a student file that will import cleanly.
Delete one student
-
Open Settings → Students. Find the student and choose Edit on the matching row.
-
Check the student’s details, then select Delete and confirm Yes, delete. The student disappears from the school list.
Delete selected students
-
On Settings → Students, tick the students to remove, then choose Delete Selected.
-
Confirm the browser prompt. Houseplay removes the students it can and reports any it kept because they have results in an active carnival. Review the list and the warning before continuing.
-
Review the deletion message and any warning about students who were kept.
If a student is kept, open their active carnival and check the recorded result before changing anything. Do not delete or alter a genuine result to force roster removal. A bulk deletion can partly succeed, so compare the final list with your selected students.
