How student and house points update

Understand when event results award student points and how those points contribute to house totals.

Saving a result records the student’s performance, but it does not award points immediately. An event awards points when it is complete.

Those points contribute to student totals and the student’s house. Team points count once in the house total, while each assigned team member receives the points in their champion-student total. Bonus points affect house totals only.

From results to points

1. Enter the event’s results.
2. Complete the event. With Automatic Event Completion on, Done completes an event that has at least one result. With it off, use the completion control in Events. Complete or reopen an event shows the steps.
3. Check Champion Students for student totals and House Points for house totals on the carnival Dashboard.

An event’s Scoring Method determines how many points its results award. Correcting a completed event can change those points. Reopening it removes its awarded points until you complete it again; the saved results remain available to correct.

If the result is there but the points look wrong, work through the tally checks.
