Bulk-create events
Create a set of carnival events from selected divisions, genders and year levels, then check every combination.
A carnival often needs the same event for several groups, such as a 100 m race for each year level and gender. Bulk Add Events creates these together from the divisions, genders and year levels you select. In an age-grouped carnival, the selections use age categories instead of year levels.
Before starting, your carnival, event types and divisions need to be set up, with the grades or age categories you want available.
Create a set of events
-
Open your carnival and choose Events. Check the existing list before adding anything, so you do not create the same set twice.
-
Click Bulk Add Events. This form creates one event for every combination you choose.
-
Choose the Event Type to create for each group. Adjust your Scoring Method if you wish. The event type fills in the measurement and attempt settings; open Show Advanced Options only if you need to change them.
-
Under Divisions, Genders and Grades, tick only the groups you need. Each combination creates a separate event. If your carnival uses age grouping, this column is Age Categories instead.
-
Read the calculation below the selections. It multiplies the number of divisions, genders and grades you selected. If the total is larger than you intended, untick a group before continuing.
-
If the combinations and total look right, click Create Events. Each click creates another set, so submit only once.
-
Back on Events, check that the new event type appears for each intended division, gender and grade or age category. The number of new events should match the calculation you reviewed. You can now add competitors and scheduled times.
If an event type is missing
If the expected event type is missing from Event Type, check that it belongs to this carnival’s type in your school settings.
If you created unwanted events
If you already saved unwanted events, review the Events list and remove only the unwanted events before competitors or results are added. Do not run Bulk Add Events again to correct a partial selection; it creates another set.
