Use last year's carnival as your starting point
Update the school roster, create this year's carnival, copy eligible events and check the new programme and entrants.
If this year’s carnival follows a similar plan to last year’s, you can reuse the earlier event setup to save entering it again. Create a new carnival for this year’s dates, then copy the events you need from the earlier one.
The new carnival still needs this year’s entrants and programme checks. Individual student entries and results do not carry over. This checklist helps you prepare the school list and check the new carnival.
Update the school
- Check Students against the current register. Update year levels, remove leavers and add new students. For file imports, keep returning students’ IDs consistent.
- Check the houses, year levels, event types, scoring settings and venues you need this year.
Build this year’s carnival
- Create a carnival with this year’s dates and grade or age grouping. The grouping cannot be switched once events exist.
- Copy the earlier carnival’s events. Review the preview and any skipped events.
- Compare Events with this year’s plan. Check groups, scoring methods and venues. Set up pools and rounds again if you need heats and finals.
- Add this year’s competitors and team members. Check the event lists against your entries.
- Check Program for each day. Confirm copied times, reorder events and schedule anything still in Unscheduled.
When the events and entrants are ready, use the carnival-day readiness checklist.
